We recently had the pleasure of visiting the stunning garden grounds at Thrive Birmingham, and what an inspiring experience it was. Surrounded by greenery and fresh air, we were reminded just how powerful and restorative spending time outdoors can be for our wellbeing.

During our visit, we had the chance to learn more about the incredible work Thrive does.
For those who may not be familiar, Thrive is a charity that uses gardening to make a positive difference in the lives of people living with disabilities, ill health, or those who are isolated, disadvantaged, or vulnerable.
Their approach is rooted in the belief that gardening can improve both physical and mental health, something we wholeheartedly support.

We had some truly meaningful conversations about the many benefits gardening brings. From reducing stress and anxiety to encouraging movement and a sense of connection with nature, gardening offers a simple yet powerful way to care for both body and mind.
That’s why Thrive runs calming sessions like ‘Mindful Mornings’, inviting people to spend quiet time in the garden and enjoy the peace it offers. Sometimes, just pausing in nature can have a big impact on how we feel.
We’re also delighted to share news of an exciting new collaboration between Hozelock and Thrive through their Cultivating Wellbeing app. Together, we’ve launched a brand-new activity: ‘Create a Water-Efficient Garden’.
This interactive feature encourages users to explore water-saving gardening techniques, such as installing a simple irrigation kit. It’s a great way to care for the planet while also enjoying the therapeutic benefits of tending to a garden.
We left Thrive feeling inspired, uplifted, and excited about what lies ahead for our partnership.
If you’re looking for a simple way to boost your wellbeing, we invite you to explore the Cultivating Wellbeing app, try the new activity, and experience first-hand the many joys gardening can bring.
